XIAOMI ROBOTIC VACUUM -MOP 2 PRO
Pros:
1. Vacuum quality is very good.
2. In earlier model, I believe the mopping quality was not good but this one is amazing. The 10k vibrations per minute is magical.
3. Virtual wall feature is amazing. If we don’t want the robot to enter any area, we can create virtual walls and remove it at any time.
4. Battery life is amazing. Even after I completed mopping 3000 sq feet only 20 % of battery was used.
5. They are claiming to provide on site service, which is great. Also most parts are available on amazon itself.
CONS:
1. Before vacuuming you need to clear the area. Remove any big dust particles like paper etc. Remove door mats. It may climb on carpet & clean it but gets tangled in door mats. It climbs on my weighting machine and struggles.
2. The initial mapping is very important. Ensure all doors are open before you begin. Follow it from BEHIND and not from the front. I did that and it thought I was a wall & just returned to charge without completing the mapping.
3. We need to wash the pads every time. Little painful but I hv a short cut. I add a few drops of vim liquid. Scrub it using a silicon scrub(it is soft & will not damage the pad). It becomes clean within seconds.
Tips & Tricks:
1. Though they have given instructions not to add anything except water, in the water tank, it is perfectly okay to do so. I add hot water with little vinegar and a few drops of soap. It cleans really well.
2. The mop pads are expensive. So if you already have any pads or any flap mop models, you can use it in this, even though the size may be bigger. Only condition is to use normal mode instead of custom mode. Otherwise due to the additional thickness the robo may struggle a little.
3. Use vacuum only if you actually suspect lot of dirt, otherwise directly mopping is enough.
4. The quality of” vacuum plus mop” at the same time is not very good. So do the vacuum first and then the mopping.
5. Remove hair from the brush after each use ( it collects a lot somehow)
FINAL RECOMMEDATION:
. It doesn’t miss a spot.
1. If you are buying it mainly for vacuuming, then you may select any cheaper model/brand too. Most are very efficient.
2. If you are buying it for good quality mopping, then this is your best option in the market. (I did some detailed research before buying)
3. Seems a little expensive but it is totally worth it.
4. As compared to our house help, this robot is a master piece. You can make it clean even 10 times a day. It will not refuse
UPDATE AFTER 10 months:
My water tank failed to sprinkle water. It is fully moulded, so no repair was possible. I had to purchase a new tank (rs.2500).
No complaints as it happened due to my mistake. I believe we should STRICTLY USE ONLY WATER in the tank as it has sensors. You may spray other cleaning liquids on the floor, if you want.
Service was excellent. They sent a person the very next day. Service charge was Rs.450 even during guarantee period (which is bad). They suggested taking an extended warranty as the sensors & mother are very expensive & bound to fail too. I took that too (rs.1500/-).
STILL THE ROBO IS WORKING WELL. Satisfied with the mopping quality.

This is an invaluable tool for a SAHM like me who doesn’t like to spend precious time cleaning the floor day after day. This robot vacuum cleaner has made life much easier for me!
Pros:
Can be programmed to clean areas on a regular basis.
Can do vacuuming and ‘mopping’ simultaneously, eliminating any trace of dust on the floor
Responds well to temporary changes in recorded floor plan
Responds to pause and resume commands on phone very well
Mop pad is easy to use and clean.
Comes with a small brush and cutting tool to clean the brush and cut off any wound up hair/ thread/ cord etc.
Cons
Mopping function is a pretty basic wiping function. Cannot clean up hardened crusts etc.
Dirt collection box is quite small and needs frequent emptying.
I have personally programmed it to run thrice a week in the busiest areas of the house and twice a week in non-busy areas. Once a week, I use the mop and vacuum function to clear the dust completely and then spot mop the areas that need more attention. It has made keeping my house floors clean a real breeze.

My review of using new Vacuum Mop Pro 2 for 3 days…
1. The product is a bit tricky to setup with the app and you have to follow YouTube videos to get it setup. I wish Xiaomi provides video tutorial links in their user manuals. They don’t mention it but we need Bluetooth and WiFi connection to be setup, for the app and robot to work together. This tip is missing in user manual.
2. WiFi connectivity does get lost sometimes but that is because my router is far from certain places in my house. That time the robot needs to be brought back to the WiFi range. 5GHz connection does not work with this model.
3. The robot takes anywhere between 40-60 minutes to completely vaccum my 800 sq. ft house. Battery life is really good in the new model. 50% or more is still left after one complete sweep or mop cycle of my house. Charging is also not bad. It took 1.5 hrs for it to charge full 100% the first time.
4. Couple of times it got confused in a specific area in my house and I had to reset the entire house map for it to work properly again. Once the map was created and the device has sweeped and mopped that area for a couple of times, it would not repeat this behavior.
5. Dusting is of A1 quality. Each time the amount of dust collected is staggering. We never knew we had so much dust in our house!
6. Mopping is average. I would call it “light wiping” and not mopping. Hard stains or sticky stains or dry stains are not affected by the mopping. Only light dust or weak stickiness gets wiped out. Adding a bit of floor cleaning liquid or Vim liquid in the water helps.
7. Vacuum + Mop mixed mode is limited in its effectiveness. In this mode, mopping sometimes wets the floor and causes dry dust to stick to the floor which the vaccum is not able to pick up.
I recommend vacuum and mop as two separate cycles.
8. Keeping mop extension attached to the robot all the time causes mopping cloth to accumulate dirt, and when it gets dragged along the floor it causes wet dirty mop to be wiped around the house. This is not ideal. So it’s important to remove that extension from the vacuum bot when you are only vacuuming and not mopping.
9. The mop works horribly on door mats (main door or bathroom mats). It gets very dirty when it moves over mats and then that wet dirt spreads all over the place. So please remove all the mats, esp. during mopping session.
10. Noise levels are pretty low in medium mode. Sometimes we don’t even know where it has gone, it gets so quiet.

Cons
* Mopping is average. It’s at best can be called as light wiping.
* Setup is bit tricky, user manual is insufficient. Xiaomi does not contact or send any demo person at home. You have to figure it out using YouTube videos. I can see old people or non tech savvy people will highly struggle with this thing.
* Once the device is confused it doesn’t correct itself automatically. It needs a map reset.
* Door mats make the mop even dirtier so please remove them or other items on the floor before mopping.
Such tips nobody gives you and you have to learn them on your own.
But I still recommend this device as it is very effective in sweeping the dust in the house clean.
