I recently purchased the AmazonBasics Digital Optical Audio Toslink Cable (9.8 Feet) to connect my TV to my soundbar, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance and build quality.
What I Liked:
Durable Construction: The cable feels solid and well-made. The connectors fit snugly without any wobble, ensuring a secure connection.
Excellent Sound Quality: There’s no noticeable loss in audio quality. The sound is crisp, clear, and immersive. It easily handles high-definition audio without any dropouts or interference.
Generous Length: At 9.8 feet (3 meters), this cable is perfect for setups where you need a bit more reach. It gave me the flexibility to position my devices exactly where I wanted them without any strain on the cable.
Affordable: Compared to other brands, this AmazonBasics cable offers exceptional value. You get high-quality performance without breaking the bank.
Considerations:
Basic Packaging: The cable comes in simple packaging. While this didn’t bother me, it might matter to those who expect premium presentation.
Rigid Cable: It’s a bit stiff out of the box, so if you need to make tight bends or navigate a complex setup, you might need to work it into position a bit more carefully.
Overall Impression:
This Toslink cable from AmazonBasics is a fantastic option for anyone looking to upgrade their audio setup without spending a fortune. Its durability and performance are top-notch, making it a reliable choice for both casual and more demanding users. Whether you’re connecting a soundbar, home theater system, or gaming console, this cable will meet your needs perfectly.
Highly recommended!

I upgraded our 15 year old TV to a new LG C3 when it started failing to turn on. Even though I got a great deal, 3K is more than I normally spend on a TV, so I’ve held off replacing the receiver that made up the centre of our Home Theater set-up. The challenge though, is that the old set-up had all sources running into the receiver, then out to the TV, so video from TV and the option of sound from the TV speakers or surround from the receiver, depending on what we felt like at the moment. But given the age of the receiver, it doesn’t support HDMI 2.1. So, using this same set-up would mean pushing lower quality signals into the new 4K TV, and that would be silly. Most of the time, we just use TV speakers when watching TV or TV shows on streaming apps, but we would use the receiver surround sound when watching movies. This optical cable is giving us that back in a decent way until I upgrade to a HDMI 2.1 receiver. I’ve just used this to go from the LG C3 to the receiver, and set the TV output to optical when we want the receiver to do the sound. It’s not taking full advantage of the source material as optical won’t cover the newer codecs, but we at least get a decent 5.1 surround, which is better than the TV speakers.
Quality wise, it seems solid, and the connectors fit snuggly in both the TV and the receiver. Sound is clear and the range is good. I can’t complain, and the price is good enough to invest in this a short-term solution.

The Amazon Basics Toslink Digital Optical Audio Cable has been a fantastic addition to my home theater setup. This 6-foot cable delivers crystal-clear audio quality, making it perfect for connecting my soundbar, audio system, and other devices.
The gold-plated connectors ensure a secure and reliable connection, reducing signal loss and interference. I immediately noticed the difference in sound clarity compared to my old cable. The multi-channel support enhances the overall audio experience, especially when watching movies or listening to music.
The cable itself is well-made and durable, with a sturdy black exterior that blends seamlessly with my entertainment system. It’s also flexible enough to route neatly behind my TV stand without causing any clutter.
One of the best features is its compatibility with a wide range of devices, including soundbars, home theaters, and gaming consoles. Setting it up was quick and hassle-free, and it has worked flawlessly since day one.
For the price, this cable offers exceptional value. It performs just as well as more expensive brands I’ve tried in the past. If you’re looking for a reliable and high-quality optical audio cable, this is the one to get.
In conclusion, the Amazon Basics Toslink Digital Optical Audio Cable is a great investment for anyone looking to improve their audio setup. It’s affordable, durable, and delivers excellent sound quality. Highly recommended!

The cable quality from the looks and inhand feel is very good, sturdy. But there is noticeable difference in sound quality with other branded cable…its not bad for normal listening, but i felt like i missed that hifi element when tested with my sk02 dac amp.

Amazing quality and functionality. My Sony soundbar stopped functioning properly with the HDMI and arc setup for some reason and I was almost about to spend another 20-25k on a new soundbar. I decided to give it one last shot by changing the hdmi to a toslink and that fixed everything! The cable is thick and of really good quality. Totally recommended!

** Fit & Finish **
● The cable is compact, flexible and is slightly rubbery in hand which gives a premium feel
● I purchased the 6 feet cable
● It comes with end-caps to keep the tips clean when its not plugged in
● There is Amazon Basics printing on the connectors
** Performance **
● I use this to connect my TV to Sound System; Samsung 5300 40′ TV to Philips 5.1 system
● My TV Optical Out is TOSLINK and Sound System Input is S/PDIF (all which I understood from their User Manuals; but there is no difference in their physical appearance. So, I believe it’s the technology used)
● Plugging in and out is easy; there is no complications involved
● The physical connections were firm and good
● I am receiving 5.1 Dolby/ DTS audio into the Sound System and I see that everything is fine around the sound quality
● The cable does not seems to get tangled up due to the rubbery and flexible build
** Value for Money **
● The cable has served my purpose, and it feels to last long
● For the price Rs.270/- which I paid in Nov-16, its value for money for me.
