I added three HDMI inputs (1. My DD Freedish HD STB, 2. My broadband HD STB, 3. My CCTV) to it, and single HDMI output went to my 32 inch 4K Samsung monitor (not TV) at HDMI2 whereas monitor’s HDMI1 has PC connected. It seamlessly displays one of 3 HDMI. I wanted that and I am very satisfied and happy. Quality is clear enough, though that would depend on the quality of cables also, any HDMI cable that is not 4K enabled would show only lesser quality.
When I switch off any HDMI input devices, it automatically changes to the next HDMI input device, that is great.
Good that it doesn’t need any additional power connection. It works on itself. Thus reducing the wires.
Suggestion: Vendor should bring new variant with displayport output also, instead or along with current HDMI output. Then I can connect all that to my monitor’s displayport, keeping 1 HDMI port of monitor as spare.
Cons: 1. there is no way to switch off this device. its LED always glows and is two bright, that distracts, so we have to cover it with something to hide it. Cons: 2. output wire is some 1 or 1.5 ft, so it doesn’t go far way from monitor and we have bring all cables upto it, and put this device on the table in front of us, making a clutter in an already crowded place. The wire should have been at least 6 ft. Cons: 3. it works only when PIP/ PBP is switched on on the monitor. If we switch off PIP/ PBP on the monitor, it doesn’t work. I think that is monitor’s settings, Samsung’s stupidity. I could have listened to radio channel on dd freedish by switching off PIP/ PBP on the monitor, but it doesn’t play sound then. Sad.
A magic device. A dream come true, must buy if you have more than one HDMI inputs.
