(Refurbished) Sony SA-RS5 Wireless Rear Speakers with Built-in Battery for HT-A7000, Black

For a pair of rears that I got for $498 refurbished, I saved 100 dollars vs getting it brand new. Not only that, it came in perfect condition and it simply just works. Setting up was easy. Sounds great overall and very immersive in a small room. I actually bought a “brand new” pair before buying this one. However, that “new pair” was defective and didn’t work so I returned it and bought this refurbished pair. And it actually works! How funny is that? It was worth it.

I am a big, big fan of SONY brand, all my AV components are SONY except for my 3 years old JBL 9.1 ATMOS Sound bar which it haven’t disappointed yet.
I’ve been looking at the Sony – HT-A7000 7.1.2 Channel Soundbar with Dolby ATMOS for a while and it finally came at its lower price ($999.99) so I thought now is time to upgrade my Home theater system. I purchased the HT-A7000 bar with the Sony SA-SW5 Wireless Subwoofer (got a great discount deal for buying them together) and it really impressed me, easy to integrate with the other Sony components, specially with my 65″ A80J OLED tv and the sound overall is spectacular, but still missing some rear overheads and surround so I wanted to add theSA-RS5 Wireless Rear Speakers to complete the set.

I found this renewed at a great price. I received the speakers in mint condition, they looks like brand new with all the accessories included and in the original box, shipping was fast. Very happy with the transaction. I give 5 STARS to the seller!!!

MY REVIEW TO THE SONY SA-RS5:
I was really hoping this speakers will be the last piece to complete my new Home theater system, unfortunately I was disappointed, the volume is pretty low and not noticeable ATMOS effect. I did run the room calibration multiple times, tested with different sources (4K streaming and 4K blue-rays) and the SA-RS5 did not impress me at all. I could hear sound coming from them but not enough to make me feel submerged into ATMOS, overhead effects are totally missing, they sounds maybe close to a 5.1 surround system, still the soundbar itself produce better overhead effects. Their sound quality is good, when you perceive it but the sound volume and overheads are not, is to low especially for this price point.

The Sony HT-A7000 Soundbar system is amazing, I love it but the SA-RS5 rear speakers are not, don’t put out to much volume… The only amazing part is when you do the 360 speaker test, then they sounded very impressive, only time I really experienced the ATMOS and the easy integration to the whole system.

I kept just the HT-A7000 soundbar with the Sony SA-SW5 Wireless Subwoofer which sounds amazing and returned the SA-RS5. Hopefully SONY comes with a better rear speakers to add to this amazing soundbar.

Really a difference between these and the other Sony surround speakers. Very pleased. Usually will only buy a renewed product through Amazon resale. Tried a secondary supplier with a great price. They were shipped quickly. Extremely well packaged and in the advertised condition.
