** The max speed that this router can support is 100Mbps as both the LAN and WAN port have this as their max. speed.
** Great for internet connections up to 100 Mbps (only WiFi, LAN will go only upto 80-90Mbps).

Pros:
> Nice UI
> Nice functionalities
> Easy to setup
> 4x 100Mbps LAN ports
> Dual Band WiFi – 2Ghz and 5Ghz

> Supports WPA3, IPv6, UPnP, WPS, etc.
> Good enough network coverage

Cons:
> Not meant for super heavy usage – if needed, go for MIMO, WiFi6, Mesh, etc.
> Only 100Mbps LAN and WAN. Would have loved a 1Gbps one.

Remarks:
> There’s a certain range limit and environmental factors that affect WiFi as a whole and are not the fault of your router.
> Use the modes while keeping in mind how they work, eg. Range extender will definitely reduce your speed as it uses 50% for the source connection.
> Configure the router properly.
> Schedule a restart of the device at least weekly (daily if possible).
> Configure static DNS servers for better speeds (1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8, etc.)
> Disable unwanted functionalities.
> The 2.4 GHz band provides the most coverage but transmits data at slower speeds. The 5 GHz band provides less coverage but transmits data at faster speeds.

Why this particular model?
My primary purpose for this router was the range extender mode . Upon checking the models and prices I found this to be the best option.
Note most tp link or any other router brand do not support range extender option out of box.
Meaning you to have to manually check router configuration settings and change the ip….to sum up not feasible for average user. Now some will tell you, that you can use ap or wds bridging. Nope. Let me tell you why, 1. AP mode supports extending both 2.4 amd 5ghz band but your new router has to be physically connected to the old one with a ethernet cable.
2. Wds bridging mode supports connecting two routers without a cable but it can only support either 2.4 or 5ghz band at one time. Meaning you only get single band extension.
3. Range extender mode. Now this is the best. It allows you to simply extend both 2.4ghz and 5ghz band without any ethernet cable connection to primary router. This will extend your wifi range throughout the area. Most routers do not have this mode. Plus this is a gigabit router so it will also support net plans over 100mbps.

TP link is a tried and trusted brand when it comes to routers. There are other cheaper alternatives but I always trust tp link over others.
