I bought two of these to make a mesh system. On setup I had a few problems getting the main one to connect to the second / node unit, but aside from that they’re working brilliantly to provide strong wifi throughout our house. The app is great, very easy to use.

This results in having one antenna very loose. I don’t know if it will affect the wifi signal.

Replaces by asus RT-N16 after 8 years as it was struggling with many devices connected and interference from other apartment devices.
Great speed. Pleasing UI.
But note that there are incompatibility with older wireless clients.
Had to turn of Wifi 6 ax to make that work. Also separate said for 2.4 and 5gz for a older device to work.
Need to replace the old device to fully utilize this router.
Still with current less optimal setting this works well and meets my need.
No drops or stalled connection or increased latency when net is used at full speed.

I have purchased this router both via Amazon and Flipkart. This is for the unit received via Amazon. But 1 thing is constant in both cases, I had to order replacement in both cases.
The Amazon one was extremely pathetic and even before unboxing, I decided to press the Replacement button. The box was not having the cellophane cover (which is mandatory in all routers). The absence of cellophane cover means that someone has already opened it and it was a returned item. Secondly, the cellophane cover will have a sticker with the name of importer and date of manufacture (like Asus routers will always have Rashi Peripherals as importer). So I pressed the Replacement button and I had the Flipkart delivered Asus RT-AX3000 on the same day and I showed two pictures to the Amazon customer care , one is original box and another is Amazon’s fake box. Remember, a Replacement on the asus router is not readily accepted by Amazon but will go through a painstaking customer care conversation of WHY u want a replacement?
However generally what I have seen on this particular model, that not all manufactured units are of same quality. You need to test thoroughly before you deploy this router in your production network. I am a fairly heavy networking user with almost 6 routers bought in the last 2 years. I have 2 ISPs providing 300 Mbps Optic Fiber broadband connections.
1. The router in some units heat a lot. so check for heating issues.
2. There are some router units which show too much of packet loss and WiFi signal drop. Not all units show this behavior.
3. WiFi speed are not uniform across all router units. Some router unit gives you download speed lesser than upload speed and they are faulty units. The good units shows symmetric upload and download speed provided your ISP provides symmetric connections
For the average home user, all these nitty gritty would not matter. But if you are running a mini office or an establishment where Internet connectivity is important part in your work, you have to test thoroughly your unit before deploying into production.

I have a 300 Mbps internet connection from ACT. I decided to upgrade to a wifi 6 router and I chose the Asus RT-AX 3000. Am happy with the purchase. The setup was very easy. I did it using the GUI interface. Within minutes, it was completed. No problems whatsoever. The Asus app is also easy to use.
Earlier, with my D Link DIR-825 router, I used to get Max 210 Mbps wifi speed on my wifi 5 phone. With AX-3000 router, the same phone gives upto 280 Mbps. I have a laptop with a wifi 6 wireless adapter. Here, I get a speed of over 280Mbps.
When it comes to range, the AX-3000 proved marginally better than that of my previous router. Not significant enough, though, to manage the entire home with one router. In one of the rooms in my apartment, the signal has always been weak because of two walls and concrete columns within them, coming in between the router and that room. I wanted to solve this once and for all. Therefore, I bought another AX-3000 router and configured it as an Aimesh node. Now there are no weak spots or dead zones in my home. The connection signal quality in the farthest position does not go below -65 dBm or so.
Overall, it is thumbs up for this router.

Range – i am satified – better than the netgear router that I had previously.
airProtection- the subscription free network blocker – good and does not slow down my browsing experience, I have had issues previously with my armor subscription ( eventhough it was paid ) but asus / trendmicro combination feels like its not even there and I do not see any lag.
setup – easy, did not use the APP – i just connected my laptop and punched in the router address and immedialy got into the setup screen and it was a breeze.
LAN/static IP – standard setup like any other router.
connect from WAN – liked this feature. once you pair to your app , you can see throughput statistics and control other aspects of the router even if you are not at home.
internet speed: over 300 Mbps upload and over 300mbps download – do not see any drop
overall satisfied.

After switching to this router, I can fully utilise my gigabit nbn better as I am reaching better and more stable speeds. The package was delivered ahead of expected date which was great.

More features than I know what to do with. Better features than the old unit & more speed BUT range is less.
