While it is value for money, fundametally it lacks by a big margin by not having a recycle bin / trash. If one deletes the file by mistake it is gone for ever. Fundamental flaw in a system which is meant for data storage.
The app for Windows doesn’t even work in Win 32 bit. Win 64 bit is mandatory.
Doesn’t work without internet. If your internet is down, you cannot access files.

As I always say. the Best way to store data the right way. This WD product is really awesome with remote access it’s too good. love access from any device from any part of the world. I had purchased 2 one 4TB and 8TB and looking to buy 12TB.
Again Appario Retail Private Ltd are the best sellers and they give the best rates too.

Data transfer rate is terribly slow with 1 GBPS wired LAN Connection.
You can only backup photos and videos from your phone. why should one spend such big amount to backup only photos and videos from mobile?
You can’t even configure LAN IP, no option in app,
You can’t secure public folder and can’t access personal folder without App.

The storage capacity is misleading. Not explicitly given in product description. Only after purchaseing, it is given in very small letters un noticeable. Consider better options for this investment.
Even after three days, not able to connect to network, with the help of customer support.

Its been 3+ months by now. Plex won’t play any of the home videos on any of the devices ( Not even in the same network) Raised complaint ticket, tweeted, but the response is very cold.
Could it have played the home videos, it was worth but now its like a crap.

Using it on network kills time,
Pro tip Buy a SSD copy all your data ssd amd then plug ssd into your wd home cloud and click import that will save your time.
