Really nice entry level NAS solution. Works quite well for storing and streaming media off of this with the available apps by Synology. Nice product in all measures. Not for heavy usage though.

It is an excellent product for the price I should say. I got this for 12k and to be frank this work as my expectation.
My use cases-
Run plex mediaserver to remotely play my medias on tv’s
Survillence station uses.
Media storage
Run a dns server and a VPN server.
That’s pretty much I want this machine to do and it does it fine. You will notice some lags and stutters while app installation or changing configurations. That’s mainly due to the 512mb ram and 800mhz processor. But for 12k I guess this is worth.
Bonus – Consider using an ssd instead of a normal 5200rpm hdd.

I already have a Synology NAS but wanted another as a backup and knew I could replicate automatically between these devices. This one has one drive bay which was fine for my purpose. I installed a Seagate 10TB which was more than adequate for my needs. Easy to setup initially especially as I had already gone through the process with my other NAS. Took a little while to get my head around the replication but that is working perfectly. This is an Amazon warehouse purchase which is something I have not done before. When I have looked previously at items here, things didn’t ever seem to be dramatically cheaper. This was a little cheaper but described as ‘as new’, and to be fair it was. Only difference being it was in a plain cardboard box and not original packing. Very pleased.
