色違いで複数所有しております。毎日10時間運用して3年近くになりますが、不具合はありません。長期保存目的なので、未通電期間が長いとデータ欠損（電子抜け）が発生する特性を持つSSDは使えません。保存はHDD、データ移動にはSSDです。HDDの5年保証の機種があればなお良いです。

If you’re looking for large capacity drive this is best you can get. it’s new line of previous gen and now comes with Password Encryption, though 450Gb less that’s quite a lots of GBs Lost But it will be same with all drive despite of brands. you can wait for great offer to get Better Deal.

I had been using another old WD passport purchased back in 2019 and it got some of the data corrupted. After some searching I got to know even if you’re using the hard drive for occasional backup purposes only you should plug it in to your computer from time to time and use it else the magnetic disks can be corrupted. Also don’t keep any hard drive, SSD, USB 90% full . In Windows it basically means don’t let File Explorer turn the storage bar red from blue. Also, if you’re planning to use it across Windows and Mac then format it in exFAT format and be sure to the formatting from your Mac and not Windows.

If you are first time buyer of a hard disk. Buy a WD and all the HDD that follows will definitely be a WD.
I have a WD HDD that is still work like i just bought it yesterday when i actually bought it 15 years back.
The only reason why i am buying again now is simply because i ran out of space and need extra TB.
