Make sure to upgrade your BIOS to latest vers prior to use this processor. This processor needs bios firmware to latest only. Once you yodate the BIOS. You will get display and desired performance from the processor.

I have 16 gb ddr4 3600mhz and 500gb ssd, Most of the game will play with low settings and Adobe softwear will work perfectly just after effects and primier pro will require too low down the setting.
You will see the magic of Vega 8 when u install the Radeon software .

I bought this for its top value/performance relative to other cpu’s available. For its class it plays flight simulator extremely smoothly, never mind there are higher benchmarks out there. Besides it is very efficient and fast for my home movie making. Your experience may vary. I paired it to a Asus X570 plus wifi motherboard , and 16Gb Corsair ddr4 3200 ram and this combination is made in heaven. At 65W TDP this cpu runs about 37degrees to 40degrees celsius at normal usage.
I wanted the Ryzen 5600G at first but as it is limited to pcie 3.0 i decided to get this Ryzen 5700X as it supports pcie 4.0.
These cpu’s are the last of the AM4 sockets since new Ryzens have moved to AM5 sockets.
Who cares? One cpu generation behind saves big money!
Conclusion: i am very satisfied with this buy. Delivery was a mere 3 days and overall its unbeatable value for the performance i get. All goods came intact in good working order ( touch wood, as one or two people i read got lemons).
Highly recommended (imo).

With the crazy price of GFX card and my ancient GTX650Ti Boost card is dying, I bought this to replace both CPU and GFX. Cinebench R20 shown 55xx points, faster than 3700X’s 50xx, obviously not noticeable in real world but temperature is ~5℃ lower when I’m doing video transcoding. less heat output and lower noise from fans. I was expecting the VEGA iGPU to perform similarly as my 9 years old GFX card but sadly, it doesn’t. For video decoding, It does able to hardware decode VP9 and HEVC(H.265) up to 8K, which the old nvidia couldn’t. Then again, the 8c/16t 5700G is power enough to decode even the AV1 at 8K by itself. Maybe the VEGA can play popular game at lower resolution, I don’t know. But even age old Age of Empire III DE have a hard time doing 30fps@1600p, I didn’t bother trying others. I would say if you expect to replace the dedicated GFX card, don’t bother. Other than that, this is still the best 8c/16t cpu with iGPU on the market.

The high number of core and threads is more than enough to play AAA games and easy rendering works. Use it as is or paired it later with dedicated GPU down the road, hence provides good flexibility. The 65W tdp is also good for mini itx config. I put this in Deskmeet X300 and no need to worry about high temps.
