Corsair CP-9020133-UK TX550M 550 W 80+ Gold Power Supply Unit, Black
This was a bit of an emergency buy as the bearings in my last psu were definitely on the way out, or in fact, practically gone.
This one was recommended to me, this one and absolutely no other.
Corsair is a good brand and gold is apparently the best. I do wonder if I shouldn’t have bought a high Wattage though.
Anyway, it was fitted today by son who did moan about the installation a bit as he had to change some things around due to the way the cables are. Regarding the cables – this is a modular psu, so the cables are not installed already. Rather you plug them in the side. The main cables are fitted though. All cables are supplied as well as cable ties.
So far, it is wonderfully silent and seems to have fixed issues I was having with one hard drive so I am happy.

Although people are vary of the vs series, i can comfortably say that this will serve u well. It’s great, handles all things great, and is just what u would expect from corsair, a great psu in a budget. Also, this is the uk version so the power plug will be different and wont fit in a socket unless u got a jointer or something.

This is one of the finest power supplies, and its pretty economical too. The efficiency is claimed to be 80% plus by Corsair, and I have no reason to doubt that. The standout feature of the SMPS is its noise level, which is zero. The only thing to keep in mind with this SMPS is that it comes with a power cable that is fitted with a UK plug. So you can either use your old power cable, or buy a UK power plug adapter from the market – it’s not expensive (~ 100/-).

No noise. Best in class. I like the wires.

This product was a nightmare. So …. i got this product considering the brand and the gold rating it has and not to forget the reviews.
Only if i checked further on this product.
After my dream PC build was completed, everything was perfect, until the first few hours of usage.. then heard a loud POP sound, i almost had a hear attack.. i was so stressed out. I checked all the connections no burnt smell nothing no trace of any short, then i turned on my PC again hoping it will switch on and it worked … checked multiple places online looking for help and nothing . So i used it for a while and the next day… LOUD POP this time the the main board breaker trips and i was frozen .. removed everything out packed the PSU and send it back to amazon …
i contacted Customer support dept knowing that the PSU is at fault and asked for a refund which was not given instead a replacement…
the same thing repeated loud POP twice… checked on corsair thread and there are multiple cases on this issue with loud POP ..do check before purchasing this product.
IT LOOKS LIKE GAMBLING.
Amazon was kind enough to provide a refund.
Now i am gonna take my time to looks for a PSU. BUT THIS MODEL IS SUPER RISKY.
PS- i have checked PC power consumption before purchasing so that is no way the problem.

However, on the first day of using it there was a grinding-like noise probably coming from the PSU fan bearings. It’s gone now

Okay First of All, I was very Sceptical to buy this variant of vs550 with grey label as I thought this was some kind of low quality variant because the other one with colorful logo has way more buyers and reviews and it also looks better.. I really needed a good PSU as my old stock PSU was shutting down due to overload whenever I tried playing Infinite Warfare which is a resource intensive game.. Buying a vs450 also seemed a waste of money under the circumstances and I won’t be needing the power of a vs650..
After spending quality time with different forums, I understood that this one with grey label is an improved 2018 version of the vs550.. Its smaller than the other one and it supports from 100v to 240v.. It also boasts 7 SATA Connectors and 2 Molex while the old variant has 4 sata and 4 molex.. This one provides 44 Amps through the 12V rail while the old one could only supply 42 Amps.. Forums also mention the use of improved and superior quality capacitors and heatsink in this 2018 variant.. I was monitoring the price every day and I ordered it from Gatiya Retail LLP when the price suddenly lowered to Rs 3,430 one lucky Minute.. I received the product a day earlier than scheduled in mint condition thanks to genius packing by seller and direct Amazon delivery..
It took me around 2 hours to replace my old 350W stock PSU with this one as I did a little bit cleaning up inside the case too.. The first turning on was slightly nerve wracking.. But when I saw the CPU lights and my Circle Fans Powering up bright, I knew I made an awesome purchase.. It started up real good.. The first thing I noticed was the silence.. So damn silent that I have to listen carefully to even hear a buzz.. Quickly fired up infinite warfare and after a 10 minute session i checked on the PSU.. It was a little warm from the intensive load but the thing was it was still silent, and the smell of fresh PSU working was like the smell of a new book

…
I recommend everyone out there who’s looking for a new PSU to close your eyes and buy it.. You’ll never regret this.. You’re getting yourself a quality product from a trusted Brand and You’re also future proofing yourself to an extent..
Completely Satisfied.. (My Unboxing Video Included)

I got this PSU for my new PC build after looking for a decent modular option.
I am very pleased and impressed with its performance so far as it has not let me down. It is gold 80+ rated and because it’s modular you don’t have to install the cables that you don’t need – meaning they aren’t just gathering dust tucked away in your case.
The cable that come with it are very thick and impressive, I did have difficulty bending the motherboard connecting power cable as it is so thick and has a protective membrane around all the cables. When installed the cables have a clip which allows you to orientate which way they are plugged into the PSU and keep them in place. I have moved house twice carrying my new PC and the cables have still not come out!
The PSU itself has writing on it to allow you to know which slot is meant to be connected to where on the pc. Very easy to use and reliable.

For some reason this thing makes more noise when placed upside down in cabinets where the provision is at the bottom for PSUs. Yes, if you have your room fan on then you might not hear it much but if you are in a quiet room then you will hear this thing louder than your CPU fan. Quality of the product is great. Has a lot of connectors for an average gamer (98% of the market) to start playing without worrying about compatibility as its very flexible with enough connectors for most components that goes into a typical gaming pc. Do keep in mind that this product comes with a UK style rectangle plugs instead of Indian cylindrical plugs. Not recommended for high end gaming PCs though

If you build a good pc or low level gaming pc then you need a good power supply unit.. you can go with it. It have most ports (7 sata, 2 pata, 1 set 24pin, 2 set 12v MB, 2 set or 8 pin GPU and 1 floppy
). And good PSU means long lasting hardware.
.
I brought it in Rs. 2390/-
Cons. : It is an UK Verient, that’s means the Power suppy cable is different but you can use your any old power supply cable.
Pros. : Voltage rate 100v to 240v, guarantee 450w power supply, long cable, good packing, strong body, its heavy about 1.5 kg (may be). No damages.
Juat buy it. . Its very good..
