Needed a b550 board with pcie gen 4 and this fits the bill perfectly.
Very nice build quality on the board and preinstalled IO shield
Beefy heatsinks on all the vital parts including the m.2 slot (top only not the bottom one)
great power delivery choices with 8+8, 8+4+4, 4+4+4+4
    plenty of ports
BIOS flashback! this came in clutch for flashing to the newest bios for my 5800x, just run the 8pin, 24pin power, slot the thumbdrive you loaded and renamed the bios on into the bios usb port and hit the flash button…no need for ram, cpu or anything. so nice.

my only knock is that there wasn’t a stand off included for the 2nd m.2 slot so im stuck running 1 ssd instead of the 2 I planned on installing so that was kind of a letdown.

overall a good value and great board for gaming.

The PCs I’ve built most recently have an i5-4690k, i3-6100, and i5-7400. So, I knew there would be some things to learn about the Zen architecture (and DDR4 timings.) I have much more of a concern about air conditioning the heat from my house than many people seem to, but I also have experiences from back in the Dark Ages with pushing VRM cooling and output to stability limits, so even though I expect to be doing more undervolting of Ryzen 5s and 7s than overclocking of Ryzen 9s, I felt pretty good about not paying a significant price premium for this board over cheaper ones.

When I popped in my 3500X fresh from China, the board wouldn’t POST. Flashing the BIOS didn’t help. I narrowed down the problem to one of the two RAM channels, and I was more than a little worried it was the memory controller in the CPU (especially since I didn’t have anything else to test with, and, of course, it came from China.) As the return window approached, I decided it was more likely to be the motherboard … and it was. The second one works fine, haven’t found anything to complain about.

I did not use the M.2 heatsink on my first ever NVME drive, electing to put a mini heatsink on the controller chip instead. I guess we will see the wisdom of that.

For your own peace of mind, to preemptively remove one troubleshooting element, I would recommend initially tightening the hardware for tower coolers as loosely as practical for proper contact, as I’ve now learned that flexing the board and losing a memory channel has been a bugaboo for Intel boards for many years – I really don’t think I overtightened mine, but it came with AM4 hardware that was hastily redesigned for B550 and a little sketchy as far as feedback from the mechanical advantage of the excessively long screw threads (whatever happened to springs?), and you can bet I spent a couple hours making a thermal greasy mess to see if that was the problem.

Depending on how CPU pricing and availability go, I’m planning to buy at least one more of these for the fleet. If I see a solid used B450, I’d probably move the 3500X to that, if AMD sells a non-X 5800, 5600, 5700X, 5500X, etc. in 2022.

I spent around 5 days trying to troubleshoot this motherboard since I was getting no signal on my monitor and a white VGA light on the motherboard and I found that it’s UEFI/Legacy problem but you need a GPU that supports UEFI or an updated vBIOS that supports UEFI since the motherboard even though it supports Legacy it boots in UEFI only mode instead of UEFI+Legacy.
I got and updated R9 Fury vBios from Sapphire and i’m gonna see if I can upload it to Techpowerup.

TL;DR: Be aware if your GPU does not support UEFI even though it’s rare.

La adquirí para un procesador Ryzen 5 5600g, el BIOS necesitaba una actualización para soportar el micro pero desde el puerto de actualización (USB) fue muy fácil cargar la nueva versión y poder poner a funcionar el equipo.
