Ich weiß gar nicht wo ich anfangen soll. Anfangs war ich skeptisch weil die Karte sehr viele negative Rezensionen bekommen hat. Ich habe sie mir dennoch bestellt, und muss sagen ich bereue es nicht.

Die Karte kam in einer sehr schönen Verpackung.

Der Einbau verlief Problemlos (setzt die Karte aber so weit von der Grafikkarte weg wie möglich, ich habe sie in einem PCIe x16 Slot. Das ist kein Problem). Nur der Molex Stecker für die Beleuchtung wollte anfangs nicht so richtig. Lag aber an einem Schlecht verarbeiteten Stecker meines Netzteils. Wer möchte, kann außerdem das HD-Audio Kabel von der Frontblende des Gehäuses an die Soundkarte anschließen.

Denkt daran am besten vor dem Einbau jegliche Audio Treiber zu deinstallieren und den Onboard Chip über das BIOS auszuschalten.

Nun aber zur Karte selbst.
Sie ist extrem gut und hochwertig verarbeitet. Die Abschirmung der Karte ist bemerkenswert. Meine 1080ti von Asus erzeugt keine Störgeräusche unter Vollast. Die Soundqualität ist absolut genial für den Preis.
Zusätzlich ist diese Karte die erste Soundkarte mit RGB-Beleuchtung. Diese ist wie ich finde sehr schick, und kann in einem PC der sowieso schon RGB-Beleuchtung hat zum echten Hingucker werden. Der mitgelieferte RGB-Header gibt dem ganzen dann nochmal zusätzliche Möglichkeiten seinen PC weiter zu verschönern. Dieser wird direkt an der Karte angeschlossen.
Der einzige Nachteil ist das immer die Software für die Beleuchtung laufen muss. Bei mir Persönlich aber kein Problem das sie bei mir sowieso immer ausgeführt wird.

Nun zur Software.
Die Software hat ein Schickes neues Design bekommen. Ist nicht unbedingt übersichtlicher als die vorherige Software aber egal.
In der Software kann man dann die Beleuchtung einstellen und natürlich – wer hätte es gedacht – allerlei Soundoptionen.
Man kann ganz einfach zwischen Kopfhörern und Lautsprechern wechseln. Bei Stereo Kopfhörern oder Lautsprechern besteht außerdem die Möglichkeit den Direkten Modus zu benutzen. Das bedeutet dass das Signal unverfälscht direkt an die Audioausgänge gegeben wird. Bedenkt aber das dann der Equalizer und andere Optionen nicht mehr zur Verfügung stehen. Im Direkten Modus könnt ihr eine Abtastrate von bis zu 384000 Hz erreichen. Im indirekten nur 96000 Hz. Denkt daran die Raten einmal für direkt und indirekt einzustellen. Sie sind unabhängig voneinander weshalb man mehrmals die gewünschte Rate einstellen muss.
Noch ein kleiner Tipp falls ihr Spotify benutzt. Spotify kann keine Abtastraten von 384000 Hz wiedergeben. Verwendet also einfach 192000 Hz.

Negative Punkte
Da gibt es bis jetzt eigentlich nur eine Sache. Und das ist der Mikrofoneingang. Der ist aktuell vermutlich durch einen Fehler in der Firmware was mit einem Update nachgeliefert wurde von einem leichten Störgeräusch geplagt. Meinen Kumpels im Teamspeak oder Discord fällt das aber nicht mal auf. Lediglich in direkten Aufnahmen hört man es leicht. Außerdem wird Creative dieses Problem vermutlich bald beheben.

Fazit

Sehr gute Soundkarte. Klare Kaufempfehlung

Nachtrag:

Nachdem ich meine Grafikkarte Overclocked habe, hatte ich auf den Lautsprecher Klinken und dem Mikrofon-Eingang unter Last ein lautes Brummen. Der Kopfhörer-Ausgang blieb aber von dem Problem verschont. Dann habe ich mir den Ausgang mal genauer angeschaut und siehe da, der Kopfhörer-Ausgang ist von der Blende entkoppelt. Ich habe also die Blende abgeschraubt und habe die Löcher der anderen Klinken-Anschlüsse genau so groß gebohrt wie das Vom Kopfhörer-Ausgang. Außerdem habe ich die Kontakte von den Anschlüssen die sich mit der Blende berühren so weggebogen das sie das nicht mehr tun. Das heißt: Die Blende ist jetzt komplett von den Anschlüssen entkoppelt. Und siehe da: Das Brummen ist nicht mehr da! Ich verstehe nicht warum Creative das nicht von Werk aus schon so gemacht hat. Vielleicht gibt es da irgendwelche Vorschriften.

I bought AE-9 and have been using it with my Sony HT-RT3 home theatre system which is connected to this card via an optical cable. I must tell you that I have never experienced sound like this in my life and I have used other sound blaster and Asus cards as well in the past.

If you are planning to buy AE-7, please don’t. Save some more money and go for AE-9 with your eyes closed.

Pros:
1. Crystal clear sound that would impress even the biggest audiophiles on this earth. You will hear each and every beat if you are using Dolby/DTS connect mode along with an optical cable.
2. Sound card is made of top notch gold plated components which makes it durable for life.
3. Best part is the Audio Control Module (ACM) which has plenty of I/O options and modes. It has an XLR mic input with 48v phantom power. I am a YouTube creator and checked the recording, it was awesome.
4. If you are creator then you don’t need to buy separate interface like Scarlett for recordings, just plug in XLR and record.

Cons:
1. DTS connect mode stops working sometimes but that seems to be the issue with almost all sound blaster cards. This is an issue Creative is long due to look at seriously.
2. It’s a power hungry card. It needs a separate 6 pin power cable (one used for GPUs). It eats a total of 150W power, 75 from pcie slot and 75 from your PSU. So need to check your power supply esp if you already have a hungry GPU.

All in all its the best choice for professionals and rival cards don’t even come close in sound quality.

AE -5 plus replaced my 15 year old Xfi Xtreme music card. So let me tell you i am not new to Headphone AMP cards. I also happen to own HyperX Cloud S headphone which pretty good for music and gaming.

Coming back to AE-5 plus is like 3 or 4 level above Xfi Xtreme music. So if you are using Motherboard on board audio chip, you basically don’t know how much you are missing out on quality of improved sound reproduction this cards offer. Even Xfi blows motherboard on board audio chips out of the water and AE-5 is couple of level above that.

Conclusion: If you want audio card – this is gold option.

(PS: Creative audio driver and command center are easy to install, no issues faced here)

I used this to replace my pre-existing 15yr old soundcard and was well worth it. Sound is fantastic, ultra clear voices, sharp and much tighter bass sounds from my existing sub woofer.

This is my First Creative Product Experience. The Installation was very easy and straightforward. My Motherboard is Gigabyte b360m Gaming HD and this card suits in perfectly for it and the Output delivered through the Card to my Logitech z263 2.1 speakers are of great quality.

Great sound card . My primary use it to hook to AV receiver and watch movies over spdif. The sound is far more improved from mother board sound card . The headphone sound is also great .

The LED lightings are great.

Only disappointment is 32bit/96hz sound is sent through only stereo output. 24bit/96hz is the maximum sent over spdif output. That’s why -1 star.
