I was using it for listening to the music I download from the internet. Suddenly, on 25th of January 2021, it became undetectable. But the funny part of the story is when I connected my amp to the computer’s onboard sound mechanism, the music suddenly made more sense. To my utter surprise, I discovered that I had been listening to coloured sound with a bass that had been playing havoc with my favourite tunes. Its untimely demise was a blessing in disguise.

I recently updated my PC, new mobo/CPU/GPU/RAM/SSD, the whole thing, but not a sound card. The new mobo promised so much with the onboard sound I didn’t think it needed one. The reality is I have been sorely disappointed with the mobo’s onboard sound, I have spent many hours and tried many different pieces of software trying to tweek a decent sound. After reading the reviews this looked like a simple & cheap upgrade to see if I needed a new speaker set up. I currently use a 5.1 Cambridge Soundworks (yes it is quite old) and really didn’t want to say goodbye to it prematurely. The soundcard arrived with a simple instruction leaflet with diagrams (in many languages) along with a driver CD and a smaller height I/O bracket – my PC case is a full tower so no need to swop, the full height I/O was already fitted.
Simply plugged soundcard into spare socket on mobo (make sure your PC is disconnected from the mains before opening it up), powered up and went into mobo Bios (usually F12 or Delete – check your mobo manual) and disabled onboard sound, rebooted and Win 10 installed drivers, one more reboot and Win 10 recognised the card. I installed the software from the CD and was then able to tweek the sound to suit my set up and it sounds absolutely fantastic.
My 5.1 is now delivering frequencies Iv’e not heard in a long time and overall I am so impressed with the difference this has made, just sorry I hadn’t done this sooner. It is a cheap & effective upgrade and knocks spots off onboard sound (FYI my mobo is an MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon socket AM4), if upgrading to this card then make sure you turn down your speakers before fitting as I found the volume to be a lot higher.

I am writing this review after few months of use. Not a great sound experience from this card – the price also has to be taken to account. This internal sound card is better than the MB sound mechanism but some hiss sound arises while hearing music. I would suggest to go for an external card or internal card above 15K to really experience the richness of music/ vocals. This sound card is good for beginners (or) can replace the MB failed sound circuit settings if need be.

It works well and I am very happy! I was a bit worried at first with a few of the reviews but it all came together fine. The card fit perfectly both in the PCI slot and in the rack housing fine. When I booted it up it installed the drivers fine when I looked it up in device manager. I had to reboot to fully initialize the install. The only thing I had to do was find the software off the Sound Blaster website. It’s not difficult. Just llok up the website and select the Sound Blaster Audigy FX support downloads and you are golden. I had a Sound Blaster Audigy in my old College computer from like 20 years ago and this one is just as amazing. I hooked up my old but still very decent Logitech 5.1 X-540 surround sound and it really sounds amazing. Music is incredible! Movies unreal! And gaming… wow! You really feel the depth in the sound. Also, the software is a very nice touch and fun to play with. If you know what you are doing with all the settings I am sure its more than just fun! For the price of $40 bucks this is beyond worth it!!

Bekledigimden once geldi ve hasarsiz ambalajli geldi. Ses kalitesi parasini sonuna kadar hakediyor ozellikle isletim sistemi guncelse hicbir sorun cikarmiyor. 5.1 kanal destekli film ve oyunlarda oldukca yuksek ses ve dolasim sagliyor. Battlifield 5 online denedim muthis sesi ortaya kadar acamadim en ufak mermi sesleri dogru yönden geliyor.
