I’ve fitted this in a new built computer I’ve put together for everyday use. Boot time is insanely quick. I was going back and forth between this Seagate and a Samsung as to which to purchase. In the end the price and Seagate’s warranty swayed me and I’m not disappointed.

This review will involve numbers, but it won’t be super scientific.
I use the Firecuda 2TB in my computer as a secondary drive only for cloning purposes, in my dual boot Ubuntu & Windows system, so can’t give you information on thermals as only use it in a live USB environment (Clonezilla to be specific).
I managed to clone the primary 1TB nvme gen 3 drive (Intel), filled up to ~700GB, to the 2TB Firecuda in roughly 21 minutes (skipping disk health check). I have mixed feelings about the transfer rate because this is advertised as a 700K random write drive but I didn’t get close to that in a real world application, see:
700,000 MB data from source drive, drive A
2,000,000 MB space on destination drive (partially filled to about 1.1TB), drive B
21 minutes total transfer time to clone drive A into B
napkin maths:
(700,000 MB/ 21 minutes) = 33333 MB/minute
33,333 MB/minute = 33,333/60 MB/second = 555 MB/s random write speed
Given the 555 MB/s average transfer speed, I would assume the advertised 700 MB/s random write speed was hit, since an avg. of 555 MB/s means the write speed went above 555 and below it as well, so all in all this gets a perfect score.
I use mine without a heatsink in a nicely ventilated PC case and I’ve had 0 issues so far.
