Alle von mir gekauften Blue-Rays werden gerippt und auf einem NAS gesichert, um auf diversen Abspielgeräten im Haus zur Verfügung zu stehen. Da der externe Samsung Blue-Ray-Player schon recht betagt und ziemlich langsam war, habe ich den LG WH16NS40 (in ein Gehäuse von Icy Box verbaut) nun erstmals getestet und bin begeistert.
Plus: Der Lautstärkepegel ist zwar etwas höher als beim Samsung, aber das wird durch die gut dreifache Lesegeschwindigkeit des LG mehr als wett gemacht (max. 300 gegenüber max. 80 FPS im Ripper).
Minus: Der LG ist zickiger mit verunreinigten Discs. Die haben den Samsung nicht im mindesten irritiert, der LG (bzw. das Rip-Programm) produziert öfter mal Fehlermeldungen. Erfordert also etwas gründlichere Inspektion der Disc auf Fingerabdrücke oder sonstigen Dreck.

It was shipped from the USA within three weeks! It was easy to install and no issue was faced. The only thing that I would like to say in negative is that it did not come with the box. I missed the box. Otherwise, the product is fine and It has been working perfectly. I have already burned 2 Bluray Disks of 25 GB (Kodak make) by using Windows 10 native burner. In the first disk I used speed of 4x initially and got an error message. But the same disk was burned next time with 2X speed. Then also, I got the error message at the last stage but to my luck the burning was successful. Second disk was burned with 2x speed right in the beginning and it worked out perfectly with the successful completion message. However, one Disk was wasted which I tried to burn with Nero with 2x speed in which the process started perfectly but in the last stage (about 95%) some error message was given and the disk is now neither readable nor writeable. I will post next updates in future.

Only bad is no accessories but product works fine and good ,some of the low class cd/dvd/bd are not working.
Use only high class or medium classs cd/dvd/bd to work sufficient.
Nero is the best software to use in this drive.
Once again Good product……!!!!!!!!!

No surprise here. I had hoped it might work on the XP side of my PC, but I knew it likely would only work on the Windows 7 side. XP doesn’t even recognize the drive. Keep in mind that Windows 7 and newer don’t show an optical drive if there is no media in it. So if it doesn’t appear on the GUI after install, try inserting any optical disc into it. Bought this to burn Blu-Ray discs, and it has performed adequately. It doesn’t come with software, so you may have to buy software to read Blu-Ray media as older software might only read DVD formats. LG makes solid hardware, so I’m confident I will be quite happy with this product.

Use Cyberlink Power DVD 14 for viewing Blu-ray/3D movies.
Nero 14 for any other work.

Does what is supposed to perfectly,
Upgrade your firmware from Internet, available easily upon searching.
Should have got a SATA cable and an Application + Manual DVD.
These are loose Drives but in perfect condition and are transported very securely by Amazon.

Disk drive works fine.
Out of the box worked fine for cd, dvd, bluray and 3d bluray.
My version I got in early 2024 I was able to using the ‘2023-10-02 flash libre guidance’
After flash can also do 4k

I am using this Blu-ray drive for past 5 years still this works very fine great product I would recommend this if you’re looking to buy Blu-ray drive
