The speed is good , The software Nero 12 should not be installed, Malware /junk also wants you install a hijack browser .called ask. its totally malware and takes over your PC and browser. products great, take the Nero 12 CD and through in the trash can, has nothing to do with CD player/ at all. Nero is malware.

Good value burner. I’ve given this burner a pretty good workout since purchasing it and there has been no issues whatsover. It’s reasonably fast and quiet. The ability to burn DVD M-disks is really nice. Very happy with this burner.

I finally got this DVD writer (LG model #GH24NSC0) set up so it plays movies etc. as it is intended to. I am running Windows 10 and I Initially had to run a “repair” sequence on Windows in order for it to work properly. The only thing I was concerned about is that the DVD Writer makes a few “clicking” sounds on bootup. This, according to LG’s technician, is normal. So far, my build, including the DVD Writer, is running perfectly. Although I was prepared to give this item a lower rating, because the price was very fair, and LG’s technicians have been so helpful, I am giving it five stars.

Awesome and fast drive! Quiet, too. Hooked up in a flash, power and connection cords were included (bonus!).
Be aware though, that the Nero software is only a TRIAL VERSION, although nowhere on the ad (from which I purchased) mentioned this, and is the only reason I got this particular one from this particular seller (Platinum Micro, Inc.) as other sellers had the Drive at a little lower price. Although when I did call them (Platinum Micro, Inc.) to ask about the version discrepancy (the picture on the ad does not state it is a Trial Version, but the CD I got clearly did), they did allow me a small credit on my purchase, for which I was entirely satisfied with. If getting a full version of this bundled software is important to you, I suggest you contact and confirm with the seller before you buy this Drive whether it is or is not a Trial Version.
As far as the Drive itself goes, it plays/burns perfectly, and at top speed. Am completely happy with my new Drive, and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase this brand/model number again.

I was easy to install and included what I needed to do so. I recommend the dvd player!
I installed the Nero Essentials that came with it and tried to play a DVD. I could see video but there was no sound. When I tried to open Nero settings to figure it out, the app kept sending me to their website to buy their product. Eventually I downloaded and installed a free version of Nero from their website and the sound issue was solved.
