I have been using this product for over a week now and it is performing really good. My previous DVD-RW drive broke down so, I decided to purchase this one and I am satisfied with the product. However the packaging is not so good there is no box pack except amazons packaging. I have literally received this product in polythene packaging that is disappointing to me. They are bulk products but I atleast believe that it should contain a box.

Recensisco questo prodotto a distanza di 5 anni da quando l’ho comprato ed inserito nel mio computer assemblato da me con buone specifiche.
Devo dire che in questi anni non mi ha mai deluso e mi permette di creare degli ottimi cd e dvd senza perdite di dati.
RUMORE: Per il rumore devo metterci una parola, non aspettatevi che sia silenzioso (perchè difficilmente un masterizzatore lo è ) ma ciò nonostante non trapana le orecchie.
P.S. Una cosa che ho notato appena installato è stato un rumore metallico proveniente dal motorino. All’inizio pensavo fosse qualcos’altro, ma una volta provato a staccare il collegamento ed accendere, ho constatato che il problema era proprio lui. Certo questo non da alcun problema durante il normale funzionamento del pc ma solo all’inizio all’accensione. In ogni caso ormai ci ho fatto l’abitudine e ha reso il mio pc del tutto originale (anche perchè ha un case dell’anteguerra e fa modi sleepers e ci sta come rumorino, come in una vecchia auto, i cigolii ci sono ovunque ma non ti preoccupi troppo).
Amazon come al solito eccelle nelle spedizioni, in 1 giorno mi è stato consegnato, che dire fantastici!

Device is working well. But no SATA cable and fitting screw pack comes with it, I use it by salvaging the old one.
There is no amazon packing. Just received such of the delicate product in a sealed plastic packet luckily undamaged.
Amazon did not provide even bubbled shock absorbing wrapping. I really disappoint in this point so gave only 3-star rating.

I already have another identical DVD writer from ASUS. After nearly four years it is beginning to show signs of age, i.e., facing difficulty in reading some DVDs. This new piece is reading all DVDs and CDs except the ones that are visibly damaged. So I would say it is working fine. Installation was a breeze, as usual, and the price was good too. I only hope that it lasts at least 4 years. So, I would definitely recommend it.

– I had 2 dvd which could not be read by my laptop drive, That drive couldn’t recogonize the disc and said there was no disk in the drive.
– I gave those 2 dvd to another person with desktop dvd drive to copy but he said that the disk was recogonised but reading got stuck midway.
– Then I purchased this one to try for myself and just like a piece of cake both disc was read effortlessly in the first try itseld, thank God.
– From my experience I feel this drive is a solid drive. (I have had it only for few hours so take my review with a pinch of salt)
– BTW the packing was horrible, just horrible – simply wrapped in a single layer plastic bag!! Thank God it was not damaged.

Just received this product a few days before. I have used other makes but this brand surpasses all. We as customers write a product review, in my opinion some products need detailed review so that other buyers will have an idea about the product, other than this the seller is also as important as the product, no doubt amazon helps secure your money and their service is TOP-NOTCH, but i would like to mention about the seller also. The seller of the product i received from is TPS Technologies. The seller has given this product as fresh as a company boxed item but without box. The dvd writer came in a ASUS plastic sealed bag with ASUS logos written on it (tamper proof bag) and it also came with an ASUS installation CD with some softwares in it. Its manufactured date is jan 2017 and date of import is jan 2017. The pricing is reasonable. The product works perfectly and its mint fresh.. What more do you want. So in my opinion this is one of the best in my many list of products.Thanks to seller and Amazon.

It is a worst product from Asus. VERY VERY VERY SLOW……. Drive. You will have to wait for LONG TIME to read a CD or DVD.

This Asus DVD RW drive reads and writes fast.
I had my old Sony DVD writer which performed ok but it had only IDE connector. When I upgraded the Motherboard (+Processer +Memory) it had no IDE connector only SATA connector. Local stores wanted Rs1400/- for LG DVD writer with SATA connector. This Asus DVD RW is available on Amazon for Rs1075/- only. And Asus is a reputed company which makes computers! LG is not a computer company. So I selected this.
It wrote fast with 24x speed. My upgraded system also might have helped in speed. it wrote 4.37 GB data in 6 minutes! You can buy without any hesitation.
