My last hard drive was only 1TB, but was no longer recording. I purchased this to get my home camera recorder working and to give it an upgrade as well. Works perfect.

I had purchased this last year, but was able to put it to use only recently. It had come in a plastic cover. I also had the installation screws and power / SATA connectors needed; not sure whether it was sent with the HDD or the NVR. Did a DIY installation into the CP Plus NVR. Worked out of the box. The connectors must be installed carefully. I hear a very slight hum when the disk is spinning (to be sure this is all the time since it is recording 24×7). Otherwise working fine – I am able to record and review perfectly using the appropriate software.
Edit: The HDD died after a couple of months of operation inside a CPPlus NVR box. Evidently could not take the load of continuous recording.

L’ imballaggio è allucinante, l hard disk è avvolto da uno strato sottile si plurinall e infilato in una busta di cartone
Non so come abbia fatto ad arrivare integro
L ho comprato perché l hard disk del mio mio impianto di videosorveglianza si è rotto dopo due anni, non veniva più riconosciuto dall’ NVR
Ho comprato questo con le stesse caratteristiche
Semplice da montare
Appena montato sono andata nelle impostazioni dell’ NVR e ho formattato l’ hard disk
La capacità è di 1848 GB
È partito subito, non fa assolutamente rumore
Per il momento nessun problema , vediamo quanto dura questo…

Product is runng but the packaging is worst i have received inside the Amazon bag it was in plastic box which was broken that’s the resion why hard drive was physically damaged. If the drive not work properly who will be responsible for this. But thanks to God it was working as I was expecting.

Recently I bought the Reolink RLN8-410 (V3) 8 channel NVR. I wanted more storage space and the Seagate Skyhawk ST6000VX001 6TB 3.5″ Internal Hard Drive – SATA was the perfect choice for me. But I installed it in a external drive box and it is working GREAT. Perfect match to the Seagate Skyhawk lite 2TB that came with the Reolink NVR. So now I have a total of 8TB of storage which will be plenty for me. Even with 7 cameras connected they only record when alarms are activated.

I bought this product on 19 February 2017. The seller was Cloudtail India.
The product carries a warranty of 3 years, so it should have warranty upto 19 February 2020. But when I registered the product on the Seagate website, it shows warranty up to 26 December 2019 only, i.e 2 years and 10 months.
I’ve contacted seagate support about this and they say as per their database the product was bought on 26 December 2016. I’m shocked to hear this. Now even if I initiate return or replacement, it simply means I have to compromise security of my premises as I had bought this for my CCTV DVR and replacement would take at least a week, which means I would have to remain without CCTV recording for a week. So I have decided not to go for replacement.
But do beware before buying such products from amazon.
I’ll update the review about the product performance after using it for a few weeks.

This was my 2nd replacement hard disk from this seller and 7th replacement in total. Yes, 5 hard disks were delivered “Dead on arrival” and 1 was refurbished. Never thought buying a hard disk would be a task. Out of 6 dead hard disks 3 were WD Purple and 3 were seagate. Thankfully 7th one was alive when it arrived.

Inserito nel videoregistratore di rete per memorizzare le immagini della telecamera IP. Causa un limite o baco del software del registratore, non riesco a programmare le registrazioni solo quando c’è movimento, in pratica registra di continuo. Perciò l’ hard disk va 24 ore al giorno. E” silenzioso, non si surriscalda. In teoria son progettati per funzionare migliaia di ore (delle quali si dovrebbe tenere conto) per eventualmente sostituirlo prima che si guasti. Fatto apposta per sistemi di sorveglianza ero certo che fosse affidabile. Al momento la fiducia è ripagata.
