A very fine piece of digital technology. This is the second piece from the same manufacturer I have used now. I have found this at par, performance wise, with the very best and expensive IEEE 1394 based capture cards, even better than AV 3 Pin Video capture technology.Plug and play device that readily shows up in the device manager and delivers the good. Just insert this card into the PCI slot and you are good to go. All said however, IEEE 1394 is being rapidly replaced by USB technology.

Some serious manufacturing defect with the card I got. This would not go into the PCI slot on two of my PCs. Amazon said it is not returnable. However, they compensated with a refund of the order value !

FireWire cable provided along with it has very short length. Therefore of no use. Although, card is working good for win 7. No driver installation needed. Window automatically provided the same. For sony digital 8 cassette cameras, choose legacy driver from the choices. Overall card is good.

The product arrived undamaged but it did not work at all. I couldn’t even see it in device manager. More over it was a bit difficult to find the product’s web site to download driver as it did not ship with a driver disk. Their driver installer also could not find this card and so no driver was installed. Big thanks to Amazon team for understanding and dealing with this problem promptly and correctly.

This just served the purpose for me, there was 2 ports in front as shown here and it connected with my camcorder quite easily, the drivers were inbuilt in win8 for me, no issues. See attached images for what I received.
