The firewire card is okay It’s working in windows 7. I use it to transfer videos from SONY Handycam 32E mini dv tapes. However the cable supplied was defective. For about 3 weeks tried all sorts of soft wares for transferring files but failed. On buying another cable, all the softwares collected previously started working in transfering video from DV tapes.

Card is suitable for old type motherboards. Cable does not work after a day or two of usage. If only card is required, go for it.
