installed easily,$20. I use it for capturing video from my sony handycam and also for audio input for my tascam 1804. It works fine-no static no zipper noise no dropouts etc.TI chip-set is great for audio. would buy again if needed.

Not many devices use Firewire, some that do are DV (Digital Video) cameras, mine is a Sony DCR-HC52. I, like countless others have had trouble with the Window7/32bit OS not recognizing the cameras when connected to the onboard Firewire ports. I changed cables, changed drivers, tried multiple software, nothing worked.
This PCI board did the trick, it took a few minutes to install. After a reboot I plugged in my camera to the new firewire port, the video software launched and I was in business. The card uses it’s own onboard drivers not the ones in the Win7 OS which is what I was looking for. I have used this card a few times now with no problems and no lost frames.
