This is a great compact USB-C hub if you own the recent generation of MBP. No tangling wires, just straight attach to your laptop body. I used to daisy chain Apple’s original USB-C hub (the one with 1x HDMI, 1x USB-A) with another USB hubs that has gigabit ethernet adapter and other USB peripherals connect to it. This device allows me to consolidate all of them. Ethernet port did not work right away, had to restart the computer (OS is Catalina). The device also heat up a little bit, but not as bad. Besides these minor issues, I think this works wonderfully. Will not be able to comment on longer durability, but will update the review if there’s anything wrong with it.

Cons: If you use multiple ports at same time It affect both performance and functionality.

Great accessory for my new Macbook! With excellent build quality, I can confidently connect all my peripherals including SD cards and even an HDMI port for connecting to my TV. I can connect all ports and simultaneously charge my laptop. I have seen other low cost versions on Amazon and was not quite confident to use with such an expensive laptop. Most importantly, vendor support is great for that extra peace of mind. The design also makes sure that there are no dangling wires that may break and lightweight portability is a huge plus.
Overall, i think its one of the best USB C hubs for the money – and the fact that it matches my Macbook’s colour is also amazing!

I’ve been using this device for more than 8 months now. Initially, it worked like a charm. The device looks quite elegant, the colour merges well with the Macbook and the build quality seemed to be fine. After 6 months, the issues started. It would lose the connection every now and then. It is unable to handle even a slight disturbance. Moreover, it doesn’t tightly fit. From the first day, it has some space to move. Mostly, the ports fit well, the issue is with the case, maybe it has some free space due to which the motherboard sways. Overall, this has been a disappointing purchase.

Instead of receiving the adapter in this order I received the cheaper one that had more USB ports for both the 2.0 and 3.0 (See photo of the device I actually received).
If I was to write the one that I got instead of the one that I ordered, I give it five stars as it frees up 11 ports for me including HDMI (supports 4K videos), power, and even slots for different size media carts. I even attached a Wi-Fi device to control both a keyboard and my wireless mouse on one USB port. So with the extra port I plugged in my external CD/DVD reader recorder directly to my laptop which means it runs faster.
Well it would’ve been nice to have the one that plugs directly into both of my Mac Book Pro laptop, it would’ve given me less slots to attach devices and media card to it. Plus I believe the adapter they sent me actually cost less if I was to decide to purchase it instead of the one that I ordered, so Amazon might owe me some money but I’m actually glad that I got the one I did because it works not only on my math book pro, but it also works very well on TheC64 clone of a Commodore 64 Breadbox.

Definitely the best dongle I have purchased. Before this I had a port which had a flexible wire and it used to connect to a single port in the Mac thinking I will have atleast one original port empty. But it was such a hassle using it because it used to dangle in the air and just feel bulky.
Once you connect this to the side of the Mac, you can forget about it. The connection is strong and does not come off on its own, but in case you need to take it off, it slides of easily with the perfect amount of effort, neither too much that you have to jerk it for it to come off the mac, nor so smooth that it comes of even if you touch it by mistake.
There is absolutely no latency in the charging or transfer speed using this dongle. There have been no issues for me till now and I have been constantly using this for about 3months.
Its quite portable as well as its compact and light weighted.
Point to be noted is that there are two USB C ports on the dongle but only the top one can be used for charging the Mac, the one on the bottom is only to charge other stuff that one plugs in e.g. phones, keyboards etc. The bottom port on the dongle cannot be used to charge the Mac.

Apple’s tradition of removing old ports is indeed a pain for most of the users as it makes using a lot of old USB type devices kind of redundant. Luckily this USB type C Hub helps to get rid of such problems.
Good Things:
* Build quality is really good * It is a direct plug and play (No fuss and works flawlessly on my MBP 2020 – Intel) * Have tested the USB port by connecting one of my old Android phones and it is detected by my MBP. * SD card from my Sony A7RIV got detected instantly so the card reader port works just fine.
Concerns:
* Since this hub is jutting out from the Macbook, it is recommended to be used only when your laptop is placed on a stable surface and not when mobile as it may potentially damage the ports if any uneven forces or shocks are applied. I wouldn’t rate it as a flaw of the product but something one should bear in mind while using.
* One thing i noticed when transferring files from an SD card onto the MBP that the transfer speeds are quite slow as in when compared to connecting it to the camera via USB Type C cable. I suppose it is an acceptable trade off.
I will be testing the other ports soon and share a long term review soon. Otherwise would recommend it.

Rock solid, ultra portable and slim. Works great for connecting my second monitor and a variety of peripherals. Heads-up, though – due to its material and its proximity to your MacBook’s case, it will absorb some heat and become hot itself under peak loads, but that’s a non-issue to me as it’s essentially a heat sink at that point.

I’ve been looking for a good all in one for my Samsung Chromebook to add more devices like a game controller, external hard drive and my old trackball lol.
Shipping box seems solid and protected with a manual and a thank you\support\warranty contact card.
The three USB 3.0 is great as there were many adapters out there using only old 2.0. The additional USB 2.0 is a wonderful bonus as some devices like my Bluetooth dongle as an example has better signal\comparability on a USB 2.0 port were as a USB3.0 has better performance but lacks compatible.
Everything I plugged was fully plug n play with no issues in my Chromebook. Ethernet is a nice bonus to reduce response times and to keep a stable connection vs using my WiFi. I just upgraded my network to use gigabit so now I can transfer my data to my external hard drives and\or network drive with more confidence compared to WiFi.
My favorite part I wasn’t expecting was the hard drive\SD hard appearing in Chromebook to add to its limited storage with no hassle.
Like the other ports the hdmi worked great, giving me the choice to play games or surf the web on my big TV! Along with plugging in a game controller.
The body is a solid design, the price was the lowest at the time of my review. The features are great and worked with no problems. I recommend this for a great all in one port extension for your setup.

Im using the hub in MacBook Pro 13″. It provides 12 ports but you can’t use 4 usb and HDMI together. It drops the connection. You can see in the photo. I have connected 4 usb connections to different usb hub and HDMI to this hub. The hub is properly fit for my requirements. If you required more than 2 usb connections and monitor at the same time I suggest to use HDMI connection on 1 hub and usb connections on another hub. One more thing, It gets hot nearly 112F and this temperature is normal to run the hub.
