Laishah –
The mouse is of extremely high quality, with programmable buttons that allow you to personalize the settings to your own requirements, as well as the ability to connect to other devices.

This is one of the best mice for the price. For non gamers this is the best choice. The clicks are quiet, the shape is ergonomic, and it offers a high level of customisability. The pros and cons of the mouse are:
Pros:
1. Ergonomic. Does not strain the hand or arm.
2. Silent clicks.
3. Amazing battery life.
4. Button customisability.
5. Seamless switching between multiple devices over bluetooth and 2.4ghz usb dongle.
6. 3 year warranty. Most mice in this price range have only 1 year.
Cons:
1. Low polling rate so not very suitable for gaming. However it’s fine for everyday use.
HP also has a cheaper lower end version of this product, HP 300. I would recommend going with this as it is worth the extra price. I have used both, and I find this HP 430 much better.

Writing initial impressions because no one else has yet – I’ve upgraded from a regular sub-500 mouse to this one, been using it for a day and it feels good for the price with the features it provides (₹930).
Build: Made out of plastic but it is decently soft to touch. The pattern at the sides are a bit softer to touch, not sure the material is rubber or soft plastic. The upper top can be opened (held by magnets) and there’s place to insert battery and keep receiver inside the mouse.
Clicks: The left/right button-clicks are soft and very quiet. The middle click has the same feel as the left/right clicks, is slightly louder, but still quiet overall. The side buttons are not quiet or soft as the main 3 buttons and feel like normal mouse buttons, they are a bit loud instead. (the video has picked up their sound more because it was recorded closer to the mouse which makes these buttons sound louder but they don’t sound that loud while using)
Weight: 78g without the battery. 101g with battery. (weighed myself)
Size: Fits into my large hands easily and it feels good, my hands can easily envelope it. I have an old Logitech M100R and their dimensions are similar, but 430’s thicker from the back and the side contour makes it better to hold. (see image with M100R and HP x500)
Package: A Mouse, a receiver, a battery, some papers.
Connectivity: Can connect using receiver and bluetooth. There’s a button at the bottom to toggle between receiver and bluetooth connection – I’ve been able to switch between two laptops with it.
Features: It has lots of features – many functions & ways to map the buttons, supports copying files from one device to another, can use gestures etc. – I haven’t tested them yet. See HP’s video on YouTube for this mouse which explains all the features in detail. Install HP Accessory Center to unlock all those features. The HPC application should install automatically in Windows when the mouse is connected.
4.0/5 – Overall I’m very satisfied with it, wish that the side buttons would have been the same as the primary ones. Let’s see how long it lasts. 🙂
Edit 1: Wrote this earlier, deleting this – “The mouse supports 3 devices I think but I haven’t tested that yet.”
Edit 2: After 10 days, changing my rating from 5 to 4 because the left-click button is having issues with drag-click occasionally. When the left button is pressed normally (click engaged) it loses the hold in between even when the button is pressed. For example, if I start selecting some text, it will lose focus and start selecting from somewhere in between. A workaround I have is to apply more pressure on the button consciously so that it does not lose the click-hold action. If this issue will start happening frequently, I’ll have to visit the service center. I hope that the service centers will honor the 3yr warranty whenever the issue worsens.
Edit 3: Warranty related –
1. The product’s box says one year but their webpage says 3yrs – https://www.hp.com/in-en/shop/hp-430-multi-device-wireless-mouse-3b4q2aa.html
2. I had called HP’s technical support few weeks back and they said that we can’t register this on HP’s site and will have to contact the nearest service center directly for anything warranty-related.
3. I called my nearest service center and they said that there is no registration process for warranty and we’ll have to visit the center directly with the invoice for any issues or warranty claims.
4. I tried to register online on HP India’s website and it asks to enter a serial no. but the website said ‘no results found’. HP’s technical support confirmed that for devices like mouse, keyboard, etc., it’s not possible to search them through HP’s site and register them.
5. There’s one HP webpage I found where it can be officially registered for warranty online but it says 1yr there. On the HP India’s home page, scroll down to the end and click on ‘Register your product’ under ‘Support’ section. On this page, search ‘430 mouse’ to proceed.

The Mouse is of high quality and can connect to 1-2 devices at the same time while maintaining a long battery life. This mouse is meant for office use, not for gaming.
