Transparent and doesn’t obstruct backlight at all. 4. Gives the keyboard a sleek matte grey look. 5. Will protect against dust, accidental spills and droplets.
Cons: 1. Decreases typing speed tremendously as your fingers can’t glide and you have to press harder. On Day 1, my wrist and lesser dominant fingers began hurting slightly after typing for 30 mins. 2. Significantly degrades the smooth effortless typing experience of butterfly keyboard 3. Texture feels restrictive and rough after prolonged use if you have soft hands
Overall I’ve rated it 3/5 because it is an effective, affordable cover with no false advertising, but not in the least type-friendly as far as functionality goes.
Recommendation – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for those who type less than 100 words in a day ⭐⭐⭐⭐ for regular typing (emails, brief reports) 🤔 for those who type >5000 words a day ❌ NO-GO for writers and programmers
UPDATE: Been using it for a month now, can’t tell you how useful it’s been in protecting the keys from gathering dust. Now I only remove it when I’m using the laptop for some high-speed typing, in a sealed room (which has been exactly 2 occassions). I’ve gotten accustomed to typing with the cover now, and don’t mind it when making reports etc. Changed my rating to 4/5. It’s truly effective against Indian dust issue. In fact I would give it a 5/5 if it didn’t make my fingers hurt after typing 10pages. (But you can always just remove it for a while)
I say go for it. You may doubt your judgement the first few days but give it a week and you will be convinced.
