This is a great enclosure. Nothing special on the build quality, it feels cheap plastic. But it’s great it hasn’t had any problems and works great. Speed time it feels like it’s faster than other enclosure’s. Files write fast. Not a tech nere but I can clearly see the time has gotten better than those with micro USB.

I have been using this for more than a week and I have had no problems (I can even run games like GTA III of it) The Good things about this :- 1) It is so easy to install even a toddler can do it 2) it looks very good and is very light so it is portable 3) It’s has a usb c to usb a connector so you can use it anywhere where there are usb 3.0 ports 4) it is very reliable Bad Things :- 1) The transfer speeds are somewhat low (my hard disk has a transfer speed of 200 to 300 Mbps but in this case it only gets upto 64 maybe 65 Mbps) 2) the quality of the plastic seems cheap and attracts fingerprints 3) dose not work with almost any other usb cable expect the one it came with 4) the quality of the usb cable it came with is not so good
Over all it is good value for money you can also buy a sata to usb cable which is cheaper but if you want good looks and faster speeds (these speeds are faster than the sata to usb cable) you should buy this

Used this to replace a powered dock so one less power cable and power brick. Took about 2 minutes to install my drive and another couple to plug it into my computer. I use this to do a nightly clone of a Mac mini and so far it is working beautifully. Can’t speak to the long term but Orico has always made good products at reasonable prices. Also, a nice long USB cable let me place the drive in a convenient location.

I actually order these twice. First to test them out and seconds once I verify that they work. Overall I ordered 5 of these in different colors. I wanted to repurpose a bunch of SSDs that were just sitting around for g home and work use. It would also save money on buying replacements for the external hard drives(or housings) that were failing. I’ve had then for a few weeks and stress tested them at work and home. My coworker also treated a couple out and find them to be better than the initial external drives that I gave him. Easy to insert drive into the housing. No additional software needed. Did what I need it to do.
A few things though:
1. They heat up quickly, but for what I use them for is not a problem as long as prolonged use is not incurred.
2. It is as nice hard plastic assembly that’s fairly durable. I wouldn’t drop it though.
3. It does not come with the hard drive. I didn’t expect that it would, but some that I have spoken to thought it did.
Overall, like I said, it does what I need it to do for work and home. It sees extensive use on both places.
