I really like this enclosure. I have installed an SSD from an old external enclosure and it works well. I have tested a Kingston KC600 256G SSD. I have no complaints about this. I am writing this review because it is so attractive. Its some good looking computer kit and works in a quick setup style. The price was good as well, at about $20 CAD. No complaints here. Fun and useful tech.

Very good solution to make use of old HDD. I replaced my old HDD by an SSD. So my HDD became useless for me but this made it useful as a portable HDD. Looks cool in blue light and transparent case makes it sci-fi. Speed is very high almost same as inserted into laptop.

I bought the HDD Enclosure (2139-C3) with Type C to Type A cable included in the package. Using this for the 1TB HDD that is being used from the old laptop.
Installation is easy and straightforward. The laptop recognized the HDD immediately and displayed the partitions as it was in the old laptop.
Speeds were ranging between 3.1MB/s to 55MB/s. It is fine as long it works well and consistently.
Overall build quality is decent but may NOT survive a fall from table height I feel.

I’ve now got 3 of these great little external enclosures to repurpose several 2.5″ HDD and SSD drives I had laying around for externals. Drives are easy to install, and swap if you plan to use one enclosure for a couple drives, they have proven to be reliable, and I’ve been able to get same speeds on USB 3.0 ports as you would if the drive was natively connected to a SATA controller. I use these under Windows 7/10/11 as well as Linux and FreeBSD and they work fantastically on each OS.

Excellent product. Works like magic. Even works with older generation HDDs (the fat ones!). I had an HDD from 2009, which I removed from my old laptop and was storing since 2010. Never expected it to work. When I plugged it in to this Orico beauty, it rose up from its long deep slumber and started working like a charm. Data transfer is also very fast. Was a pleasure browsing through old files specially photos, which I thought were lost for ever.
I also connected my SSD (Samsung Evo860) to it. SuperDuper fast file transfer speeds!!!
This product is amazing. Built quality is good, but not great. Durable, if you take care of it well. Its fully plastic, so if you drop it, it may break in a single drop. Very easy to open and install HDD/SSD; the top cover is screwless and sliding type. Gorgeous looking too. Fully transparent.
My recommendation; go for it, blindfolded!
