Pros: Works great with my 3970x.. All I turned on was XMP and PBO and it’s been flawless so far. Cons: No problems whatsoever with my build. Overall Review: This thing is heavy with all the heatsinks and the back plate. I just love it. Looks great and has amazing features for TRX40 including dual Intel 10Gbe LAN. To reply to another review, I put 4 sabrent gen4 1TB drives on the Addin card and CrytalDiskMark shows over 15,500MB/s seq reads and writes which was as expected. I’m using Trident Z Royal 3200 C14 (4×16 = 64GB) which was on the QVL.

Pros: Dual Intel 10G nics*(see note below) PCIE Slot layout (less of a chance of blocking a slot with a dual card) Cons: Drivers and software Stability has been an issue with this board and I’m hoping its just the fact that its bleeding edge. -The Gigabyte liveupdate program causes BSOD when you check for updates randomly. Its safer to go to the support website. -@BIOS update utility crashes when checking online -Intel nics wont link up past 5G. Asus Aqauntia 10G links up at 10G without issue. -SPIDF Optical Digital Audio cuts out randomly and only way to fix it is to restart the computer. This is very annoying when you are running a VM Server with lots of VMs. Restarting services, disabling and enabling audio devices is not enough to bring it back. -Gigabye LED controls conflict with Corsair iCue and it tries to take over everything. As a result, the mobo lights are the one thing I cant control. Overall Review: Usually go Asus but the hardware selection on this motherboard was hard to pass up. Went HEDT for the PCIE lanes since it was a limiting factor on my old board. Goal was a do everything machine: Video editing and encoding, coding, gaming, Plex, VM Server, file hosting, backup repository. Retired 3 older machines in the process. Overall power usage has decreased while performance and ease of management greatly improved. Knocking off 2 eggs until reliability is sorted out. When the machine runs without crashing, it has exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately, uptime and not worrying about data corruption from a BSOD is a big deal for me. and having to restore backups a couple of times already is one time too many. Build: 3960X Dual 1080TI Corsair 4x 16gb ddr 3200 Corsair 900D Case Megaraid 9361-8i
