Pros: Pretty easy to install (once you have pieces that are assembled correctly). Lowered the noise from my case a ton… now only hear the GPU. Went from 55C at load to 35C at load after putting this in. Then I Overclocked to 4.2GHz and hit 40C at load. This is all with a FX-8150. Cooler Master has good support. Cons: The rention bracket that came with mine was assembled incorrectly. Overall Review: So, I got this and started to put it on my computer… and was like “ok, what am I doing wrong?” after about 20 minutes of trying. So I look online and find a picture and realize my retention bracket is assembled incorrectly. I contact Cooler Master, they ask for a picture of my retention bracket, I send them one, and they mail me a replacement bracket the next day. They actually mailed me everything except the actual heatsink/fan with the bracket, so I got additional thermal paste, plus some extra parts. Very happy with their customer support.

Pros: Quietly keeps my i7 nice and cool even under extreme conditions. Addition mounting hardware for a second fan, if desired, or to replace the fan since it is mounted to the bracket with adhesive pads rather than screws. Cons: Once this cooler is installed and bolted down, you can still easily turn it about 15 degrees in each direction. As your thermal compound hardens, it will be harder to move, but if you do, I have got to believe that will cause the compound to shift or thin out and reduce it’s effectiveness. I have the cooler oriented such that the fan blows through the heat sink towards the back of the case. In this configuration, the fan covers one of of my memory slots, so it must be removed to access this slot. It also limits the height of 1 memory module, and modules with a heat sink will not fit under it. Turning the cooler such that the fan blows towards the top of the case causes the heat sink to cover the memory slot, permanently preventing access to that memory slot. The only other option is to flip the fan around and mount it on the other side of the heat sink such that it sucks air through the heat sink and blows it into your rear case exhaust fan. Since the fan came pre-mounted so that it blows through the heat sink, I decided that it would be best to leave it in that configuration and just deal with the interference with my memory slot. Installation leaflet is extremely confusing, and I can see how a first time user of this type of mounting bracket could have a difficult time installing it and end up very frustrated. I wish they used screws, rather than adhesive pads, to mount the fan to the bracket that snaps onto the heat sink. Overall Review: Overall, a great cooler. Just beware of its large size and how it will interfere with other components.

Pros: superior cooling and very lightweight. The supplied fan pushes alot of air. Comes with brackets for a second fan. Mounting hardware is very good construction. Comes with thermal paste. Cons: Its a tall cooler, But most mid size cases should fit it but i would measure before i purchased it to be safe. Fan is a little bit louder than i would like. Overall Review: This is the first time i bought the EVO version of the Hyper 212. Ive been buying the Hyper 212 for years and they have always been my go to cooler. The only difference ive noticed was the fan has been changed and it does push a ton of air over the fins. This is a great cooler for the money and i don’t think any others can compare at this price range in my opinion. Get this cooler if your case can fit it and you wont regret it.
