Pros: Fast processor, nice price, 8 threads, works great. Cool and quiet fan. Cons: None. Overall Review: Using this with a SuperMicro X9SCL-F. This CPU does come a CPU heat sink and fan unlike some X series Xeon’s that didn’t.

Pros: Four cores, eight threads, high clock speed, and 80W max! Totally blows away my older dual dual-core Opteron 2220 system in all benchmarks except floating-point. However, this new Xeon pulls off the feat at about ¼ the power consumption. Less heat = fewer fans = less noise = cooler room = happier customer. Cons: My five-year old Opterons still still beat this Xeon in my floating-point benchmark…barely – and that was two physical CPUs. Overall Review: Besides sheer performance and performance-per-watt, the ECC support and virtualization tech is awesome.

Pros: Good performance, comes with fan (other Xeons may not); Using it with a SuperMicro MBD-X9SCA-F motherboard with no problems running Windows HomeServer 2011. Cons: None yet.
