Received item was in its box but not packed well. It looked like a used one. One ear piece was not working. May be it was a returned item.
I returned the item anyway and did not want a replacement.

Ok so after Amazon kept pestering me with these headphones in my recommendations, I decided to pick up a pair for $31. I went with the A71 since that’s one of their newer models, and they claim they’re flat headphones for studio. I didn’t go with their other “Pro” line since those are known for just having a lot of boosted bass.

TL;DR, Monoprice Retro does the same thing these are trying to do, but in a better way, and KSC75 has much more detailed and full sounding mids and highs despite being $18.

Ok, so here we go. I tested these back to back with my HD6XX, Monoprice Retros, and KSC75 with Yaxi Pads.

Sound: These are in no way flat or neutral. There is a noticable mid bass boost with mids and vocals feeling compressed, with a taber which makes the main body of the music sound very 2D and a bit lifeless. Some parts of the treble like high hats are boosted, but they sound like they have artificial detail which is something I’m not a fan of. The mid bass is quite forward, but sloppy while having very little Sub bass presence.

These sound like they’re aiming for a fun V shaped sound, and at first it feels like there is good Bass support, but the more listening and comparisons I did, the more dead and lacking depth they felt in comparison to everything else I tested. The sound isn’t terrible, and compared to apple earbuds they will definitely come across bigger and fuller sounding, but it’s the fine details that are missing and doesn’t allow me to get immersed in the music the same as my other budget headphones allow. They are also one of the most 2D sounding headphones I’ve used; for example while you’ll hear plucking of guitar strings, you won’t really “feel” it and hear the layering of instruments on top of each other the same as other headphones. That said, these do pretty good for EDM and electronic music. They’re definitely tuned more for that. As upgrades from normal pack in headphones, I will give them credit there.

Comparison to Monoprice Retro: (A closed back pair of headphones using the Superlux design. The same OEM that makes Samson SR850) The Retros are almost the same price, but have a much better low end with better extension. The mid bass on the retros aren’t boosted as much either and overall the retros bass feels much cleaner and natural, while having a very satisfying sub bass presence. The Retro also has mids that are recessed, but the tamber is more natural sounding. The treble isn’t overly emphasized, but it’s enough for a good V shaped signature. The drivers for the Retros (and by extension Superlux and Samson), feel to me like they have better imaging and separation. Detail isn’t a highlight of these headphones, but they don’t try to be more than they are. The soundstage is quite impressive on these for a closed back as well.

Comparison to KSC75: ($18 ear clip headpjymade by Koss) The KSC75’s are half the price, but sound so much better. The detail of the mids and highs from the KSC75 bring out the tones from vocals or violins that are missing from the OneOdio’s. The KSC75’s also are able to produce the fine details like echos and harmonics that are missing from the OneOdio. There’s a reason these are very popular in the audiophile community. (Mine with the headband mod is one of my favorite headphones to use every day)
Comparison to 6XX: I mean… Obviously they’re not in the same class at all. The OneOdio’s are very intimate, sounding like they’re right on your ears, yet the vocals and mids don’t have the same lifelike sound and are recessed. The 6XX excels at the mids with them forward, but detailed and very satisfying to listen to. The bass on the 6XX is also much cleaner and detailed, even though it does roll off.

Soundstage and Imaging: the oneodio feels like they’re right in your ears, no sense of soundstage, and they are not able to image well at all. Even with binaural audio tracks, it’s very hard to place the location of sounds accurately. There also seems to be an issue with the driver matching, as during a frequency sweep, the mids it feels like the audio pans left and right a couple times when it should stay in the middle

Build and comfort: well… They feel cheap. Very cheap! The renders on amazon would lead you to believe they were quality built, but they feel like a pair of knockoff headphones you would buy on wish.com. The padding is soft, but very cheap as well. They don’t support much, but are just thick and compress a lot. It was all wrinkled and compressed when I took it out of the box. There is also the issue of the fit, they’re quite small, and I have to extend the headphones all the way just to get them on my ears, and I don’t have a big head. When you extend the headphones all the way and stretch it enough to fit on a head, the padding on the top buckles and really shows off the build quality of these

Overall, I would not recommend these headphones when other options exist for the same or cheaper price.

    Some good budget alternatives are
    Koss KSC75 $18
    Koss Porta Pro $24
    Monoprice Retro $30
    Superlux/Samson open backs $30-$45
    ISK HF2010 $35
Creative Aurvana Live! SE $50 (probably the best closed back under $100)

The sound quality is very good and the sound is balanced. You may need to increase your phone/laptop’s volume a little more than normal if you prefer loud sound. In case of gaming, it is at per and the footsteps can be heard clearly.
The earcuffs covers your entire ear so it can be easily used for long durations which is very helpful for gaming or attending meetings.
The detachable boom mic has a decent noise cancellation and the receiver can hear your voice crystal clear.

It comes with a 3.5mm jack and you get a 3.5 -> USB converter, a Y splitter(For using with desktops) and inline mic and audio controls. The audio control button works only with mobile phones.

So this is my third pair of headphones set from this company in the pass, 5 years roughly. I happen to play a lot of online TTRPG (Tabletop Roleplaying Games) and other online community communication with people; so an easy to pick up and use mic and headset rolled into one is a plus for me.

Now, here is the issue. These headsets lack durability and longevity if you’re using professional studio work and stuff. You can sound a bit off and flat off the tune, even when speaking into a higher pitch or expressing emotions. I’m no music or audio professional, but I suspect they’ll know what I am talking about better than I know myself.

Though back on the durability. To give a brief history run. The first pair last me a bit over 2 years till one of the ear pieces, the left one, suddenly went out and stopped working with the other, right ear, now having all my audio output go into a muffled distance space zone. I figured this might be a common occurrence, so I go buy the second one which lasted longer than the first one.

The second one last longer and just recently went to trash heaven at July 24th 2023 of this posting. The wire was somehow damaged as my mic was no longer working and while I could still hear my audience and people, no one could hear me speaking. Apparently due to the wire being straightened out after only being curled up for 5 minutes was warrant enough for the headset to go dead on me.

So these will be my 3rd and hopefully last set I’ll be working with. The mic design is vastly different from the previous two I am acquainted with and thus leaves me wondering if I made the wrong choice. I will work with this new looking model for now and with hope. Not need to buy another headset within the next couple of years at least.

The sound quality is amazing, the headphones are comfortable for glasses users, I’m still shopping for the mic sadly there is no 1st party option, there is a notch on the connector so you have to be careful with 3rd mic you get
