Nachdem meine schon etwas in die Jahre gekommene WD Home Netzwerkfestplatte ab März nicht weiter unterstützt wird habe ich mich auf die Suche nach einem neuen NAS gemacht und bin nach viel lesen und vergleichen bei Synology gelandet.
Mit der 2×6 TB Konfiguration fahre ich vorerst sehr gut und habe noch dazu mehr Speicherplatz als bei dem Vorgänger.
Die Möglichkeiten sind einfach grandios wenn man zuvor das mühselige und nicht sonderlich benutzerfreundliche System der WD Home genutzt hat.
Die Oberfläche der Synology erinnert da schon eher an ein eigenes Betriebssystem mit super Funktionalität und super Bedienung auch wenn es auf den ersten Blick sehr viel an Einstellungsmöglichkeiten gibt.
Ich bin wirklich sehr zufrieden mit der Integration in das Heimnetzwerk, der Funktionalität und den Möglichkeiten. Sie spricht sehr schnell an und mit den beiden WD Red Platten ist sie auch angenehm schnell beim Bewegen von Daten.
Zur Lautstärke kann ich nicht viel sagen, da sie im Haustechnikraum ebenfalls den Platz im Netzwerkschrank gefunden hat… aber beim Verschieben der Daten von der alten auf diese neue Festplatte war schon einiges zu tun ohne das sie geräuschmäßig aufgefallen ist. Ich denke sie ist auch sehr gut zum Einsatz direkt im Arbeitszimmer geeignet.

This is the third synology NAS drive we have added to our data cabinet, over two locations. They all work together, each one was super easy to set-up, the interface is easy, and actually if there’s something you’re not sure about youtube is full of helpful videos. Very reliable too and quiet! Set it up, get going and requires little user-maintenace after that.

Bei mir hat Easy-Tecs zwei Western Digital Red Plus WD60EFZX – 68B3FN0 verbaut. Laut Synology sind die kompatibel zum DS220j. Das ganze kam in weniger als 24 Stunden. Gerne wieder, beim nächsten Synology NAS in ca. 10 Jahren.
Zum NAS selbst braucht man ja nicht viel zu schreiben. Synology halt. Das ganze kam mit DSM 7.0.1. Ich hatte mir in 2011 nacheinander zwei DS211j gekauft. Beide mit je zwei 2 TB Platten von WD. Ich wollte sie ersetzen, bevor sie irgendwann aufgeben. Das DS220j mit 2 mal 6 TB WD Red Plus ist ein würdiger Ersatz und wird mich hoffentlich die nächsten 10 Jahre begleiten.

El producto estaba perfecto si bien venía preinstalado con dos discos y al iniciar la configuración el sistema de Synology no los reconocía como compatibles. No me dio seguridad y tramite la devolucion. Amazon debía de verificar esto antes de su venta.

This is the first NAS drive I have tried. Many great points, but two cautionary points I think should be highlighted. Firstly, and maybe not a deal breaker for most, but this is a rather noisy piece of kit when indexing files. I have this in my living room and the noise overnight when it goes into indexing mode can be heard throughout the house.
Secondly, the lack of onboard RAM is a big issue when trying to do multiple tasks at the same time.
The Synology operating system (DSM) is top draw though, it is easy to use and I have no doubt that when I upgrade, I will remain with a Synology device. I would highly recommend the backup subscription for piece of mind.
