Pros: Easy to install Draws very little power, especially when idle Very quick Cons: No hyper-threading No integrated graphics Overall Review: Paired this with a SuperMicro X10SAT to power my new FreeNas box and so far it’s performing like a champ (and lightning fast). However I made the mistake of not checking beforehand, and this cpu does not support integrated graphics (n00b tip: for xeons, integrated graphics support is denoted by the model # ending in a 5, so while this E3-1220 doesn’t support integrated graphics, the E3-1225 does). I didn’t actually need any graphics support for this build so I wound up dropping in an old video card to set it up and then removed it. Rookie mistake I won’t make again.
