Pros:
Very slim and portable.
Easy to use. No additional drivers required.
Fits in my laptop bag without any hassle.
Cons:
Drive tray appears to be thin. Got to be careful especially when working with a laptop. An accidental move while opening the tray may result tray getting damaged.
Haven’t tried connecting to a TV yet. Got to follow instructions mentioned to connect to TV. Overall, it is a very nice product.

Good Product. I am using this Lenovo DVD Reader/Writer with my Lenovo Notepad Laptop.
It has read 6 DVDs properly till now. Working as expected.
Have received 1 CD and 1 USB cable along with the product.
This product doesn’t need any drivers installation. Its just like plug and use.

Overall, this is worth the buy. My laptop didn’t have a CD/DVD drive. Hence, it was difficult for me to back up the data. This USB linked optical disc drive helped me take a back of the data and format my PC. I haven’t tried connecting it to the TV. I have a separate DVD player and if need be, I would just burn a DVD player compatible disc and play it on the TV!
It’s a very lightweight device and comfortable to carry around. The build quality is great!

I bought this item last year and due to some illness I didnt use it but later when i try to install the driver CD the portable drive does not work with my Yoga 500 laptop. whenever i click on the drive in my computer it eject the CD everytime.
Now it is out of warranty so Amazon cant support.

Thanks to Amazon for so quick and hassle free delivery. The product reached in my hands in perfect condition, this product met all its expectation. It is very light and thin and does its job brilliantly, I though faced little challenge while having it connected to TV and getting it detected for the first time, but I must admit it was my old habit of not reading the manuals first.. 🙂

I ordered this product so I could use it with my computer and it works perfectly fine and I am very satisfied with that. However, I also tried to use it with my TV and for some reason it does not lead to complete video when I’m watching from the CD. The manual says that you need to press a button to make it go into the TV mood and I did the same. But still although it does play the video, it does not play it completely which I believe is the problem with the format. So please check and rethink if you are thinking of purchasing this for your TV. If you’re getting it for your laptop or computer you can go forward with your eyes closed.

haben in der Arbeit nur mehr die typischen kleinen PC ohne Laufwerke.
Ab und an kommt es aber vor das Kunden Daten auf CD/DVD bringen und dann wird ein Leselaufwerk benötigt.
Das von Lenovo ist klein, also wenn nicht gebraucht gut verstaubar und funktioniert bis jetzt ohne Probleme.
Letzens habe ich ein alte CD in der Arbeit von einem Kollegen bekommen, welche auf anderen Laufwerken nicht mehr lesbar war. Der Lenovo Slim Brenner brauchte zwar einige Zeit um es zu erkennen, aber ich konnte die Daten dann doch sichern.
Es funktioniert auch ohne eine Treiberinstallation welche in das System eingreift, eigentlich wie alle USB Geräte heutzutage. Das heißt es werden keine Admin Rechte benötigt und man kann es überall verwenden.
Haben jetzt an mehreren Stellen welche in Verwendung und wie gesagt bis jetzt Reibungslos.

I have a gaming lenovo laptop and it does not have a DVD burner. So installing games from DVD or watching movies or listening music from DVD was not possible. This DVD Burner solved my problems and I hope it can solve yours as well.

I bought this unit to use occasionally with my laptop or desktop to install the odd software via CD, but mostly to backup my CD collection into .flac files for playback on Google Play Music and/or my Sonos system – it has worked great. I’ve backed up maybe 200 CD’s since purchase and not one issue. It’s fast, light weight, overall quiet, accurate, and most importantly only requires one USB cable. It installs seamlessly with windows and no additional software is required. I use Dbpoweramp CD ripper for my backups.
